Hostel

The Hostel is not a hotel where students board and lodge. It is intended to be a "Home Away From Home" with an academic atmosphere. It is a place where the inmates live as one community devoted to learning.Every student admitted to the hostel, has to pay the following fees every semester

The Mess month starts from 21 st day of the previous month to 20th day of the current month and the mess bills are sent to the parents/guardians during the fourth week of the month. The mess bills must be paid before the due date of the succeeding month.

Rules and Regulations

Rules are framed to instil discipline and to preserve the sanctity of the Institution. Students shall realise that rules are to build up character, to provide a healthy environment in the hostel and to ensure safety and security to them.

Visitors are not allowed inside the hostel. The hostel students shall not take the day-scholars to their rooms.

  • The Parents/Guardians are allowed to meet their daughters/wards only on the visitor's day. The First and Third Sunday of every month will be the visitor's days. Without Visitor's card, they will not be permitted to meet the students.
  •  Visitors other than Parents/Guardians will not be permitted to meet the students, unless they bring with them authorisation letter from the Parent/Guardian along with the Visitor's Card.
  •  Students shall not talk with visitors of other students without the permission of the sub-warden in-charge of visitor's day.
  •  On visitor's day the visitors are permitted to be with the concerned students between 9.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. If the parents desire to take the students outside the premises during these hours for shopping or other purposes, they shall get proper permission from the sub-warden in charge.
  •  On non-visitor's day, the visitors will not be permitted to visit the students unless they have come on any extraordinary purpose.
  •  Students should not sit in the corridor during study time.
  •  Perfect silence should be maintained during study time. Talking to anyone, group discussion for study purposes and discussion with staff during study hour shall be totally avoided.
  •  From 8.30 p.m. in the night to 6.30 a.m. in the next morning no student shall be seen in any room other than his/her own.
  •  Mess timings and Class timings shall be strictly followed. During the class hours, including the interval periods (10.40 a.m. to 10.50 a.m. and 2.50 p.m. to 3.00 p.m.) the hostel students should not go to their rooms.
  •  Students should not waste food and they should realise that it is their parents' money.
  • During working hours of the Polytechnic, a student is not supposed to remain in his/her room, unless he/she is sick.
  • The sick student should inform the sub-warden about her sickness so that she is properly taken care of. The sick student should submit a leave letter to the principal getting the signature of his/her sub­warden.
  • If a student is to go to hospital in the day or evening time, he/she should go only with the permission of the sub-warden.
  • Being Engineering students they should realise the value of Water and of Energy. They should not waste water and electricity.
  • During declared holidays for the hostel or during the vacation, the students are permitted to go home only with their parents / guardians.
  • If a parent is unable to come and take his son / daughter and if he desires his son / daughter to come with the parents of some other students, he should make such a request by postal or telegraphic or telephonic information to the principal.
  • A Student should not engage any of the mess servants or cooks or other staff for her personal work.
  • When the parents send the mess dues by bank draft, it should be drawn in the favour of "AYYANADAR JANAKIAMMAL POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE HOSTEL". It should not be In the name of "PRINCIPAL" or "WARDEN" or "DEPUTY WARDEN".
  • Disobedience to the sub-wardens, misbehaviour in the mess, development of groupism, theft, communal and religious prejudices and violation of rules and regulation will be viewed seriously leading to fining or dismissal.
  • The students should not have Radios, Transistors, Cameras, Cell Phones, Walkman, Story books etc. in the hostel.
